Membership Rules

  1. All members of the charity must abide by he rules and regulations of the charity. A copy of which is available from the charities Headquarters.
  2. The charity must not be brought into disrepute.
  3. The board of directors can revoke membership at its absolute discretion. There is an appeals procedure, copies of which are available from the charities Headquarters.
  4. Membership is non transferable.
  5. Membership entitles a member to:
    • A full voting right.
    • Eligibility to stand for trusteeship (subject to conditions).
    • Participate in the running of the charity.
  6. To maintain a majority of disabled people in the charity membership preference will be given to membership applications from disabled people.
  7. Conflicts of interest must be declared in writing

Conditions

  1. Staff of ideal for all are not eligible for membership
  2. Members must inform the office of any changes in their circumstances. e.g Change of address
  3. Ideal for All reserve the right to amend the rules and conditions.

What are the benefits of becoming a member of Ideal for All?

  • Getting to know what Ideal for All is all about and participating in the range of social and business activities.
  • Volunteering for social, leisure or personal development.
  • Become a committee member and offer your first hand disability, personal or first hand experience or perspective and knowledge.
  • Take part in a number of Social events throughout the year, in which members and their families and friends can come together and enjoy the company of others.
  • Participate in local and national consultations to contribute your views concerning disability.
  • Receive regular updates on services, activities, learning opportunities and more.
  • Use your vote at our Annual General Meeting.
  • Take part in the elections to become a trustee, or elect trustees for Ideal for All
  • We strongly encourage people to become members of Ideal for All, in order to strengthen the collective voice of disabled people in influencing the way services are planned, delivered and evaluated in Sandwell.

Who can become a member?

Anyone can become a member by completing a membership application form. If you require assistance or have difficulty in filling in the membership application form, then please contact Marilyn Robinson, our Membership Co-ordinator.
